Karen was raised in Petoskey, Michigan & relocated to Naples, Florida in late 1984. She began her career in Mortgage Lending in 1997.
Frustrated with working for others & feeling that clients' needs were not always the priority, she opened her own business, Benchmark Home Mortgage, in 1999. Her business eventually grew to 5 offices in Florida & Germany & 40 employees. In 2006 she decided to sell her share of the company to her then two business partners. She worked with them until 2009 then took a few years thereafter to explore another branch of Financial Services, insurance. However, she never really felt at home in that arena.

So when the opportunity to join Nexa Mortgage, LLC appeared, she jumped at the chance.

She chose it also because it is a brokerage business as opposed to a lender. They work with various wholesale lenders, not just one.
This gives them the ability to search for the lender that best fits the client’s needs.  Their processing is done in-house, hence they deliver hands on, superior service.
